Abstract
In The présent paper we will deal with the concept of representation in school
dictionaries, the stéréotype is one of these representations by which the individual
can perceive the world, and in school dictionaries the représentations take an
important place, for This raison we have chosen "Larousse, new dictionary
beginners "which is intended for elementary students in a new edition designed
for the Algerian user, and this in order to study the stereotypes in the definition
and illustration to understand How the French perceive the culture of other.
