Towards an Arab theory of conscientious reference: an authentic, pragmatic study
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study sheds light on the pronominal reference topic and its role in
text cohesion in a pragmatic way. It analyses, on the one hand, its notions
and types (endophora, exophora) and, on the other hand, its trends
(anaphora and cataphora) in the Arab tradition. It also compares between the
Arab linguistics’ heritage and the contemporary occidental theories
specialized in textual and pragmatic linguistics.
