Collocations and Language Mastery
Main Article Content
Abstract
According to the traditional approach of language teaching, knowing the
grammar and the lexicon of a given language is considered largely sufficient for a
person to communicate properly in this language. This study focuses on
collocations as an example illustrating how much this traditional vision is reductionist, in that it is unable to establish a real communication. It also highlights
the lack of collocations in Arabic monolingual dictionaries.
