Abstract
We would like to emphasize above all that these few notes pursue a very modest aim: to report on the contribution of R. Jakobson to a very important work devoted to "the main trends in research, and not to the results obtained by research or even the state of current research. In other words, it was a question of identifying “the paths in which the sciences of tomorrow can embark” (C. Levi-Strauss), “the science in the making, the science that is being done” (J. Piaget) . The study includes the examination of the current situation and the prospects for development of the different disciplines, but also covers a whole series of questions relating to the inter- and multi-disciplinary dimensions of research.
