Critical Analysis of Direct Methods in Pedagogy of Foreign Languages
Main Article Content
Abstract
The author puts forward an overall analysis of direct methods, em- phasizing that the similarities (L.E. the epistemological principles) between these methods are more important than their differences (LE. the variety of technological aids). More precisely, the author tries to show that a methodology which neglects the importance of grammar tends, at the same time, to limit learning to mindless repetition, mere psittacism.
